Styled shoots – two looks, one venue!
Romantic English Country garden V Blue and Gold Feature Edit
A New venue styled shoot – and my First styled shoot
Today, I’m sat in my Kitchen Studio wearing just a bikini top and shorts – it’s the hottest day of the year and we are slowly coming out of lockdown. Miles away from the wintery and very social shoot that I was so happy to be a part of earlier this year before ‘rona kicked us all to the kerb.
This was my first styled shoot – eek! And it was just up the road near Kendal in the beautiful Lake District. The venue was going through a huge renovation and should have been ready for this season’s weddings to open it’s doors and welcome couples in for booking intimate and beautiful bijou wedding ceremonies and receptions. If you would like to take a look into this venue, please speak to Annabel – and ask about ‘High Hundowe’ you can find her at Weddings by Annabel
I won’t babble on too much – you’re just here for the pics, I know! You will find the list of the amazing and talented ladies that put this together just below and I thank them so much for making my first styled shoot experience an amazing one – I’ve come out with making long-lasting friendships and hope I get to see them again very soon – especially for a bit of day drinking and chilling in the sunshine!
We created two looks – the main one was classic, romantic english which you can see from invitation to decoration and the grounds. Then, we put together a more of a feature edit by table-scaping with blue and gold to show that a venue really can be whatever you want it to be.
Any stationery you see was bespoke made by me and the visionary behind it all and made it happen was Annabel. Thank you for having me!

Blush and pink peony wedding invitation and accompanied stationery with the extra edge of rose gold foiling.
Matching menu cards on mini wooden easels. The most beautiful eco-friendly luxurious favours all displayed with vintage glassware and crockery.
I always find it difficult to do names! I always use a medley of my friends and family, until I run out! So, for this shoot – I thought I’d go a bit fun! So yes, who wouldn’t love superman at their wedding?! Place cards – still in keeping with branding your wedding from start to finish!
The cake! Long gone are the white piped toilet roll cover frenzies! This beautiful creation of 3 tiers – blush marble base and english country garden sugar flowers – YES! these are not real flowers! Amazing!
Outside – You can’t come to the lake district and not have moments capturing the view! Even on this cold and wet wintery day of the shoot the natural surroundings are just beautiful! Just touches of natural materials with the wooden frame, metal lanterns and green foliage is all it needs. Our models were awesome – neither had met before and they absolutely smashed it!
The Window Seat shot. High Hundowe is a brand new venue in Cumbria, just a hop, skip and jump from Kendal. Down long single-track country roads and tucked away, this venue is beautiful and just perfect for intimate and smaller weddings. Emma created beautiful, delicate pieces to compliment & enhance the theme and the venue. Another beautiful dress from A family affair bridal as well.
And then came the Blue & Gold alternative. A more contemporary look mixed in with vintage pieces and quirky table decorations.
Lighting. What photography images do you go for? This is the same table, just the photo has been edited to bright and whiter. Something to consider when you are looking for your perfect photographer! I love dark and warm and moody, and I also adore bright, light and fresh – tricky!
